Grilled Molässa, Brie & Apple Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of hearty sourdough or multigrain bread

  • 2–3 oz brie cheese, sliced

  • ½ crisp apple (Honeycrisp or Pink Lady), thinly sliced

  • 1 Tbsp Molässa

  • 1 Tbsp butter (softened)

  • Optional: pinch of flaky sea salt or fresh thyme leaves

Preparation

  1. Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.

  2. Assemble the sandwich:

  3. Spread a thin layer of Molässa on one side of each bread slice. Layer brie slices and apple slices evenly on one slice of bread, then top with the other slice, Molässa side in.

  4. Butter the outside of both slices of bread.

  5. Grill the sandwich in the skillet for 3–4 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

  6. Serve immediately, optionally finishing with a pinch of flaky salt or a sprinkle of fresh thyme.
